NADIA HERBST-MCCONNELL!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!  Your scrappycrow was selected as this month’s challenge winner!

This awesome looking fella is named “Supa Scare” – the bird-flinging blingy scarecrow designed by Nadia Herbst-McConnell.  Nadia says, “He is made completely from found items at our house (it kinda shows).  His glittery head and bird are from leftover items from the church bazaar stuff I donated.  His base is a CD holder, wrapped in metal tape (leftover from attaching the dryer hose) and duct tape (that my husband borrowed from a neighbor last night for me).  The black and glitter papers on him are from my drawer of little scrap papers, the giant pipe cleaners are ones I raided from my DD’s craft stuff (she is 6 so it required trading and begging).  The rubber bands are from the asparagus that I cooked last night.  (How can a house not have any rubber bands except what shows up from the produce department??!!)  The raffia has to be from 1992, leftover a project I did then for school.  That is the only time I remember using it and I had quite a time remembering where I put it.  The felt is left over stock from when I thought that I needed every color made to create my little 2″ acorn fairies.  (Note:  2″ fairies do not require a case of felt to get completed).  The dowel rod inside him is leftover from DD’s birthday party in 2007 when the girls made magic wands.”

BUT WAIT….there’s more!  Kassi Hulet is also receiving  a prize for taking the time to enter such an adorable scrappycrow!  She will be receiving this month’s Mystery Prize Candy!

I still have my own scarecrow to finish and post – I’m trying, really! :-)   Be on the lookout for November’s Challenging Challenge Dirty Details I will be posting today!
Happy Crafting!

The “Spooky September Challenging Challenge” has come to an end and now it’s time for all of you to help choose a winner by voting for your favorite!  If you ask me, all of the entries are winners because every one of the projects follows the “dirty details” and is completely original.  Great work everyone! I’m just loving the humorous twist a few of you gave to the challenge too! :-)   BUT, since this is a challenge and we only have one cartridge to give away, we need to vote.

The entry with the most votes wins.  Voting is open starting now until  11:59 pm on Oct 2, 2010.  PLEASE, to be fair to everyone only ONE VOTE PER PERSON PER COMPUTER.  The poll program I use does show the cookies and IP addresses so I do look to make sure that each vote is unique ( I don’t want to sound like a meanie I  just want to be fair. :)

This is the voting poll.  To vote, simply click on the number/name of the project that is your favorite. :-)   If you scroll down a bit I added the photos of each entry for you to check out before voting.

I will announce the winner once the winner has been determined.  The winner receives a Happy Hauntings Cricut cartridge courtesy of Memory Miser!

August Olive Crafts Challenge…

2010
09.01

ENTER FOR A CHANCE TO WIN A “WALL DECOR” CRICUT CARTRIDGE!

No one entered the July Challenge so no one won a cartridge from Memory Miser yesterday because there was nothing to vote on. ::::sniff::::  No one entered the contest last week so no one won the “mystery” prizes I picked up at CHA. :-(   ::::Sniff.-Sniff:::  Too bad so sad because they were some goooooooood prizes too! (Nothing like rubbing it in, eh?!  LOL!) *wink*  I was giving away the Happy Haunting Cricut cartridge and Peachy Keen Stamps, along with a bunch of little things I picked up but now they’re mine!  Bwa-Ha-Haaaa!  I told you it was going to be a great “mystery” prize because I don’t mess around! :-)

I’m going to take this as a wake up call to revamp the challenges on OJS – no offense taken!  I’ve always looked at a challenge as being a “challenge.”  Either my challenges are too hard or everyone is on vacation and had CHA on their brains and weren’t able to participate. :-)  So with that in mind, I took an extra day to think about this and have come up with the following for the August challenge! I hope this feels more “doable” and you decide to enter! :-)

The August Challenge….

The Dirty Details:

1.  Your project must include a stamped image – it can be a rubber, clear or digital stamp image OR it may include a clip art image.

2.  It must include at least one Cricut cut.

3.  It must include fiber, a ribbon or fabric somewhere in the project.

4.  It must include at least one piece of bling – such as a bead, pearl, gemstone, glitter, etc.

5.  It needs to include at least one patterned paper.

This challenge can be anything – a card, scrapbook page, tag, altered item, home decor, repurposed/recycled item, etc.  The deadline is 11:59PM, August 31st, 2010.

This contest will be based on a drawing of all participants who enter.  The winner receives a Cricut cartridge courtesy of Memory Miser!

Questions?  Contact me!  If the link button is unavailable for you to upload your photos please send your photo to me at olivejuicestudio@yahoo.com and I will make sure to upload your photo!  Please make sure to include your name, email and blog URL!

Olive a great craft challenge, don’t you?
