Just When You Thought It Couldn’t Get Any Better!

Ever have one of those crafty days when everything seems to be too perfect? You’re in your crafting groove….the creativity is rocking…things are going well…mojo is flowing…you’re having a productive day like no other andthen ALL OF A SUDDEN as your gluing the last piece of ribbon to a cardor the last button toa flower’s center on yourscrapbook page, a huge glob of glue comes squirting out like someone sneezed all over your project?Wiping it up doesn’t help, it only makes the mess more of a disaster. You either have to grab the loose glitter and make your project sparklier than you had ever intended( because the sympathy card you were making for the cashier at the local Walgreen’s who just lost her AuntAgnus now looks like it’s a “congrats” cardfor the neighbor who lives three blocks down on the right who eloped and had a Vegas wedding) OR you try to salvage pieces of the “I thought I was done with thiscard project” only tofind the only thing not covered in glue was the envelope so you have to start fresh? How about when you’re using a pen or marker adding the final touch to the perfect card and you’re pen suddenly spurts out too much ink or skips and leaves an ugly mark…ALWAYS in the most obvious spot? And of course the stamps. Your “crafterpiece” is looking mighty fine. All it needs for the final touch is the sentiment or a flourish in the corner. You grab your ink pad…ink the stamp and ink it up good…. and wha-la! Half of the stamp doesn’t appear or you end up with an ink blob that isn’t part of your project? Maybe I’m just a sloppy crafter, please tell me I’m not alone…is it really just me?!

Have you ever had one of those days where everything is going pretty good until ALL OF A SUDDEN you find yourself sitting in theENT doctor’s office listening to the doctortell you your 10 year old needs surgery – tonsils and adnoids gotta go…and summer vacation starts next Monday…. The same day, you’re at a friend’s house and your seven year old falls off the top of an inflatable water slide and lands on his left ankle screaming in pain - is his ankle broken or sprained you wonder? Then you come home to find your backyard smells funky and is mushy so you make a few calls and find out it could be your septic tank needs to bepumped so you’re now stuck at home smelling stinkies and the septic man comes and says ” No problem lady we’ll have this done in 20 minutes” only to look out your window three hours later to see the man cursing like crazy while screeching “Lady this tank has never been emptied and this house is almost 40 years old!” (We just moved here so we’re not to blame!) Then the cursing septic tank pumper man tell you there is a cracked pipe and it’s gonna cost you some bucks to have it fixed… of course the one year new home owner’s warranty expired less than two weeks ago. You recover until you go inside to find that the load of laundry you put in the washing machine earlier in the morning is full of water….looks like the pump went out on the washer. Did someone just cough? Oh wait, that was YOU. You realize you feel chilled even though its 90 degrees. Looks like you’re getting the bug your kids had over the weekend. You don’t feel that rotten just a little chilled so you grab a sweatshirt and decide to finish that gawdy glittered sympathy card you started earlier when your mojo was flowing….it’s not so bad you think…it just needs maybe a Prima flower so you grab your roll of glue dots and at the same timeyou sneeze… ALL OVER the gawdy glittered sympathy card (Just add a little more glitter, right?!) Of course, when you sneezed, the roll of glue dots slips fromyour hand and takes off across the card you just finished, over top the new patterned paper you spent a small fortune for at the local scrapbook store and the glue dots keep rolling across your glassdining room table top not stopping until the entire roll has unrolled….of course theglue dots are facing down on everything it just rolled over….Have you ever had one of these “perfect” days?

HopeYOU’RE having a great day…!
