What is your fondest Mother’s Day memory? Is it one of you as a mother, is it a memory of your own mother or of another adult figure who played the role of “mom” in your life? My fondest memory is of my very first Mother’s Day. My first child was born on 5-5-00, so on my first Mother’s Day I was a new mom to a week old baby and I also got to spend the day with my mother who was helping me transition into my new role as a “mom.” I remember snuggling with my son and my mom looked over at me with tears in her eyes and said, “Now you get what being a mom is all about, don’t you?” I always thought “I got it” but really I had no clue until that moment. Once you become a mom your life changes forever and the things you didB.C. or B.P.(Before Children/Before Pet) are pretty much just fond memories to relive in your head…”remember when…” From here on out…we worry about our children 24/7 for the rest of our lives and celebratein their unconditional love! Honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way!
AND, in honor of Mother’s Day I found some super cute stories and quotes to share!
For severalweeks, a six-year oldboy kept telling his first-grade teacher about the baby brother or sister that was expected at his house. One day, the mother allowed the boy to feel the movements of the unborn child. The six-year old was obviously impressed, but made no comment. Furthermore, he stopped telling his teacher about the impending event. The teacher finally sat the boy on her lap and said, “Tommy, whatever has become of that baby brother or sister you were expecting at home?” Tommy burst into tears and confessed, “I think Mommy ate it!”

DIY, but Mom’s Way
While assembling furniture, my friendSusan asked her roommate’s five-year-old son to bring her a screwdriver. “Do you want a ‘Daddy’ screwdriver or a ‘Mommy’ screwdriver?” the little boy asked.
Confused but preoccupied,Susan absentmindedly said, “Bring me a ‘Mommy’ screwdriver.” The child came back and handed her a butter knife.

Peace and Quiet
AuntJoanie is the mother of two high-spirited young girls. When I called her one morning, our conversation was constantly interrupted by thesound of kids screaming and chasing each other. “Could you hold on for a moment?” my aunt finally asked, putting down the phone. Within ten seconds all I could hear was absolute silence. Then, “Okay, I’m back.”
“But it’s so quiet!” I exclaimed. “You must have complete control over those two.” “Not really,” my aunt confessed wearily. “I’m in the closet.”
